Amelia Vlahos Obituary
Amelia Vlahos, age 85, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Atria Assisted Living Facility in Stamford, CT. She was born July 15, 1931 in New York to the late Louis and Sadie (Porikos) Mallas.
Amy was the loving wife of George Vlahos, mother of John Vlahos, Terri McCartney, and Len Vlahos, and grandmother of Lauren, Patrick, and Tommy McCartney; Zach and Alex Vlahos; and Charlie and Luke Vlahos.
For fifty years, Amy and her late mother Sadie Mallas were the proprietors of Mallas Liquors in Yonkers, NY. Amy was a graduate of Barnard College.
Family will receive relatives and friends TONIGHT, Wednesday, May 3rd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave, in Stamford, CT. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 4th at 11 a.m. at the Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 1527 Bedford Street, in Stamford. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North St., in Rye, NY.
