Anastasios Tsiahouridis Obituary

Tsiahouridis, Anastasios
Anastasios Tsiahouridis, 75, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 1, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born on September 22, 1937 in Katerini, Greece to the late Kosmas and Sofia Papadopoulou Tsiahouridis. Anastasios is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Ourania Papadapoulou Tsiahouridis, his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lucy Tsiahouridis, of Stamford, his daughter and son-in-law, Sofia and Petros Papaioannou, of Stamford, and his three precious granddaughters, Stacie Asteria Papaioannou, Rachel Ourania Papaioannou and Ariana Sofia Tsiahouridis. He is also survived by three brothers, Alexandros, Lazaros and Ioannis Tsiahouridis, of Greece, his sister and brother-in-law, Athena and George Vavoulidis, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Anastasios came to the United States from Greece in 1969, and settled in Stamford, which he called his home for over 44 years. He was a butcher by trade and worked for Bongiorno Supermarket where all knew him by his nickname Dominick for over 40 years until his retirement in 2001.
