Caruso, Anthony
Anthony (Tony) Caruso, 92, a resident of Stamford passed away November 11 at the Stamford Hospital. Tony was born May 9, 1920 to the late Carmella Vaccaro and Frank Caruso. Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy Buzzeo Caruso of 67 years, his loving daughter, Barbara Boccuzzi and son-in-law Mark Boccuzzi of Bridgewater, Conn., his grandson Mark Boccuzzi and
his wife Maureen, his granddaughter Bethany Jonsson and her husband Magnus; four great grandchildren Luciana and Nicholas Boccuzzi, Ava and Mila Jonsson and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a brother, Michael Caruso of California, sister-in-law Penny Caruso, brother-in-laws, Louis Buzzeo and Michael Buzzeo and wife Jill. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brothers James Caruso (Lucy), Peter, Frank (Rosemarie) Caruso, sisters Theresa Caruso and Josephine Burke, in laws Gaetano and Mary Antonelli, Clementina, Sylvia and Dolores Buzzeo. Tony served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Manila, Philippines. Upon his return Civilian Life, he worked for the 7UP Company for 25 years then went on to Clairol where he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church. He served as a usher for many years at Sacred Heart Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford. Calling hours will be from 9 - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20 at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. To leave a condolence visit www.lacerenzafuneralhome.com
