I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I have many wonderful memories of her and your family growing up on Klondike Ave and also the many wonderful meals at the Open Door. Sabia's Open Door was a family favorite for dinners multiple times a month. Even though I was a young girl, I can still remember how good the sauce was, but most of all how sweet Carol and her family were....the laughter and camaraderie in the bustling dining room! I am comforted to know that mom and dad are in Heaven to greet her, as well as many other Stamfordites who loved and enjoyed their time at "the Open Door" with Carol and her wonderful family.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. My Mom Dorothy Mechaley grew up with Carol on Edgewood avenue and told many funny stories about her and her family, a life well lived. We have many loving memories of having dinner at the Open Door. May all your wonderful memories help heal your hearts at this time of sorrow. Sending Love and prayers
