Stamford takes great pride in Mr. Darrow, his life and contributions to his City- both for public pruposes, and for thee many private cases - in which he helped others. Meeting him at the time of the Martin Luther King memorial services held at Bethel AME Churdh in l968 was very enlightening to me. He was the inspiration for me to attend the King funeral in Atlanta Georgia. Mr. Darrow certainly affected my life and energy ever since. Bruno Giordano (Mayor of Stamford (l967- 1968)

Dear Charlene @ Sandra. It was truely an honour to have known Uncle Chalie. He was an inspiration to any child that went thru the Bethel AME church school during his tenure. He was a remarkable man. I will never forget the talks we had when my Mother and Father had passed. He described Stamford in his talks that you could actually visualize yourself there. He was walking history. I never knew my Grandfather but they were best friends and he told me everything that I wanted to know about him and his short life. These talks were something I will always cherish till the day I am called home to the Lord.My Father loved his Godfather and Pop was actually named after Uncle Charlie not Granddad as a tribute to their friendship. One of the last conversations we had was when my daughter Samantha was born. Your Mom and him were so proud. I still remember the look on his face when we bought him his favorite doughtnuts. But he wanted to see the baby first. As a Father, Teacher and friend he will truely be missed. I know Aunt Olivia is happy to be back with him again. But if I can use an old saying "when God made him he truely broke the mold." He could never be replaced. RIP Uncle Charlie you will be truely missed!!!
