Edward Dawson Billie Jr.

EDWARD DAWSON BILLIE JR. also known as "Maine" to his family and friends, died of complication from diabetes on July 20, 2009. Edward was born on March 19, 1959 in Columbia, South Carolina to Edward Dawson Billie Sr., and Julia Walker-Billie and moved to Stamford, at an early age where he attended Stamford public schools. He was a man of great compassion that was loved by all. Maine also loved to sing, write poetry, draw and most of all he loved his family. Maine leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Karina Flowers of White Plains, Georgia, Ainanda Richards of Stamford, brothers, Randy Billie of Eastover, South Carolina and Antione Billie of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Patricia Billie Miller, Sandra Smith, Bridgett Vaughn and Tammie Billie all of Stamford, Gloria Patrick of Beacon, NY, and Betty Billie of Alpharetta, Ga. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brianna, Iyanna, Ricoria and Sean all of White Plains, Ga.; brothers-in-law, Robert Miller and Kenneth Smith both of Stamford, Donald Patrick of Beacon, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Maine was also predeceased by his son Sean. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, with interment following at Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford.
