Florinda Funicella Obituary
Longtime Stamford resident, Florinda Funicella (Covello) age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Milford, PA, the day before her 94th birthday. She was born in San Vincenzo La Costa, Italy on November 10, 1927.
She was predeceased by her husband Luigi, her parents Pietro and Cesira, her siblings Francesco, Vincenzo and Elvira, and her brothers-in-law Salvatore and Sam and her sister-in-law Rose. She is survived by her loving children Frank Funicella (Lisa), Emilio Funicella (Astrid), and Mary Boland (Michael), her sister-in-law Victoria and her cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren Christin Chamberlain (Brad), Nicole McKissen (Stephen), Jules Denise (Jayson), Vanessa Tiriolo (Brian), Louis Funicella, Anthony Funicella (Kate) and great-grandchildren Michael McKissen, Mia Chamberlain, and Sabrina Tiriolo.
She was a devout Catholic, a loving mother, devoted wife, sister, cousin, grandmother, and friend. Florinda was a famous cook, seeing her family "mangia" at the table made her incredibly happy. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
