Isabel Coppola Obituary
She was a bookkeeper for Fuji Films for seven years. Isabel will be remembered for being a greatly devoted mother and wife. She had an unfailing love for her son, and enjoyed participating in all aspects of his life. Isabel loved her husband, and raved about his cooking and his protective ways. We will always remember her incredible sense of humor and how she was able to make everyone laugh and smile. She was kind and generous to a fault. Dancing and listening to music were both her ultimate passions; long live disco!
She is survived by her 8 year old son, Mario G. Coppola, III; and husband, Mario G. Coppola, Jr. She had a very special relationship with her mother, Zarela Lara. Together they shared close times and faced both good and bad together. Isabel (Chabuca) has countless friends, too numerous to mention. If we had the Stamford white pages to fill, it would not be enough. Although special mention needs to be made; Renee Nieto, was a true friend. Words cannot describe the love and respect they had for each other. She is also survived by her brother, Alvaro Iparrauirre of Stamford; and two aunts, Maria Lara and Tina Lara both of Stamford.
And lastly, Isabel will also be remembered for her valiant fight and the courage she had in facing this disease. Chabuca...........
We held on tight with each new day. No one dared to think she might go away. Her strength and spirit will forever shine. She showed us hope was always on her mind. Another joke was always quick to assure us that no matter what, she could endure this. Her love for her family never did waver her love of life she would always savor. Today and forever we'll miss her dearly the memories she left we'll always see clearly. So when you think of her put a smile on your face. She's dancing with the angels in her brand new place. To everyone,
I knew Isabel only a few years, but she touched my heart as she did everyone. I will always remember her as a very positive, kind and giving person. She was always joking around and spreading happiness and joy (and making me laugh, which I really needed). I also remember the full drawer of music at work. Every time I hear disco, I think of Isabel.

I was deeply saddened to learn that we have lost a young beautiful individual. It was a pleasure to have gotten the opportunity to know Isabel throuh another true friend, Renee. The fun and laughs we had when going out to dance clubs is a time in my life I will never forget and will always cherish. Isabel was also such a proud Mom and having her son, Mario, was a true highlight in her life. May the boys in her life cherish her memory and may Mrs. Hull look over her up above!

When all the other teens were hangin with their friends, she was hangin with this young boy. Taking him everywhere with her, they were a team. She taught him fashion, to always have clean nails, GQ was a man's bible, and to envision whatever you want in your life and you could be that or have that, this boy who always felt different, she made feel special and she said to him, never feel different for you are unique. Dear 'Chubs',
I was very happy I was able to visit with you last week. Even though you were tired you managed to crack a few jokes.
I know you are very busy watching over 'the Mario's and are teaching the 'other angels' how to dance (including my mom).

To the family of Isabel,
While I had never met Isabel personally, I talked to her several times a week for the last 5 years. I can not explain how much she meant to me and everyone she came into contact with here at Blue Ridge X-Ray. She used to leave singing messages on my voice mail that I would save and play for everyone in the office. She could cheer up even a gloomy day for us. Occasionally, if I had done something wrong, she would answer me in Spanish. I assume she was teasing me. I know she loved Spanish nuts with the skins still on and that she loved to dance. We would talk about her fight with the disease and the toll it took on her body. We would discuss our ‘boys’ and she would always say how amazed she was at everything Mario could do. She told me what a wonderful cook her husband was and how lucky she was to have her entire family. I know you will all miss her terribly and so will all of the people whose lives she touched. I am very grateful to be one of the people in world who got to know her. All of my thoughts and prayers are with you.

On Saturday my daughter Sara, who is 5 years old, met Chabuca for the first time and we so are grateful for that. Monday morning she woke up and told me that overnight she dreamt of Chabuca smiling. That moment I knew my cousin was in a beautiful place and one day we will see her again.

We were truly sorry to hear the sad news of Chabuca's passing. My mother, Linda Garner, worked with Chabuca for a number of years at Olin and was a good friend.
