Jasmine A. Patterson
Jasmine A. Patterson, 25, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
Jasmine was born on June 23, 1995 in Stamford, CT to James and Stephanie Patterson. She grew up in a Christian home and at an early age she gave her life to Christ and became a member of Union Baptist Church in Stamford, CT. Jasmine was very active at the church participating in the UBC Youth Council, UBC Choir, UBC Steppers, and served on the Church and Pastoral anniversary committees and the Woman's Ministry. She also taught at the Vacation Bible School and assisted with the Children Church Bible School.
She was a 2013 graduate of Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT and continued her education at the University of Bridgeport where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design in 2017. Jasmine was also very active on campus where she was a member of the campus step team (United We Step), the African Student Association (ASA), the Civil Rights Activist Club, and participated in numerous campus community activities which includes the annual Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service. As a childhood cancer survivor, Jasmine was passionate about participating in the annual CT Challenge bike ride which is a grass roots charity bike ride that raises money for important cancer survivor programs. She worked as an intern with the On Air Media Graphics Department at News 12 CT and freelanced as a Graphic Designer.
Jasmine was a loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Her family will lovingly remember her as a Godfearing woman whose family meant the world to her. She leaves a legacy of sticking together as a family, mental toughness, love for the Lord, prayer, giving to others, and loving all.
Jasmine is survived by her parents James and Stephanie Patterson of Norwalk, CT; a brother, Darren Patterson of Norwalk, CT; her grandparents, Gerald and Joe Ann Watts of Stamford, CT; by her aunts Joycelyn Patterson of South Windsor, CT and Lauren Patterson of Hartford, CT; and a host loving relatives and friends.
Jasmine was predeceased by her grandparents James and Eula Patterson and her Aunt Sandra Patterson Johnson.
Her family welcomes all friends and relatives from 9am to 11am on Tuesday, January 12th at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford, CT. A private Homegoing service will be celebrated in her honor at 11am, the service will be live streamed for the family and friends to join virtually.
