Jeffrey Vanech Obituary

Jeffrey Alexander Vanech
Jeffrey Alexander Vanech, 49, a lifetime resident of Stamford passed away on December 7th, 2020. Jeffrey was born on February 11, 1971, in Stamford, CT, to Patricia Ann Strazza Vanech and the late Alexander "Sandy" Vanech.
Jeff Vanech. A brother, uncle, son, and friend. Jeff had the biggest heart, eagerly willing to help anyone in need with a fervency that would make your head spin. Not only did he get the job done, but he took great pride in his work. As much as he loved to crack jokes, he equally loved to be the butt of it as well. Jeff was a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan and idolized Emmitt Smith. From being a young boy to his last days, Jeff was an all time New York Yankees fan. Competitive by nature, his love for sports was like no other. From playing little league soccer and football to a classic game of wiffleball, his fast and furious behavior allowed him to be the best of the best, even as an adult.
If Jeff's jokes were not enough, his smile and laugh was much more contagious. His family meant the world to him, but his mother, Patricia Vanech, was his complete rock. If love alone could have saved Jeff, he would have never died. Jeff was a spiritual man who loved Jesus. It breaks our hearts to have lost such a faithful man, but we take comfort in knowing that he is now safe within the loving arms of both his Earthly and Heavenly Father. We thank God for Jeffs presence in all of our lives as a bother, uncle, son, and friend. His spirit will forever live on in all of our hearts.
Jeff is survived by his devoted mother Patricia Ann Strazza Vanech of Stamford, his loving sisters Debbie Vanech Lehane of Ridgefield, Donna Coviello and her husband Mike of Ridgefield, and Dawn Bivona and her husband Gary of Stamford. Jeffrey is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews, Allie, Joe, Nicole, Danielle, Jake, JonMichael, John Christopher, Jeffrey, Samantha, Grace and Jacqueline.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Sunday, December 12, 2020 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM with a prayer service to be held during calling hours at 5:30PM.
A private burial will be at St. John's RC Cemetery.

Dear Vanech family,

I cannot express how incredibly saddened I was to read about Jeff's passing. So very long ago (1982-84), I had the pleasure of coaching Jeff when he was a member of the Italian Centers Boys Basketball team. Those are good memories of the entire Vanech family that would attend those games . Later, I would run into Jeff from time to time when I had my lawn service in Stamford. We always had nice talks. He lived much too short a life and I know will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to all the Vanech's.
