Kenneth G. Richter
KENNETH G. RICHTER

of Stamford, the son of the late Hugo and Margaret Bright Richter died Friday, February 7, 2008. He is survived by his wife Marietta Raiente Richter of Stamford, a brother Alan and a niece Katherine both of California, a nephew Jay Alan of Nevada and several cousins

There are all kinds of heroes in life and my husband was one of them. When Ken was a preteen he had a 33% chance of living due to a brain tumor the size of a grapefruit. It left him handicapped on his right side, leaving with no ability to talk, write, or walk, and causing him to become epileptic. As time went by slowly he walked, talked, and could write with his left hand. We met on the bus going to work. He worked for D.W. Roger Department Store on Greenwich Avenue for 25 years. His love was 14 & 1 Straight pool, which he played or watched in all 50 states. He still had time to wine and dine me and we've been married for 32 years.

A graveside service will be held directly at St. Mary Cemetery, Greenwich on Wednesday February 13 at 11 AM. Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday February 12 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street, Stamford.

Dear Marietta, I have always asked Dawn for news of you, always enjoying your company. How very sorry we were to learn of Kenny's passing. Barry said he was an incredible pool player. He was a hero in many, many ways. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you! Both you and Kenny are special people. With love, Lynne & Barry
