Dear Schmidt Family, I just learned today of Larry's passing. I met him 7-8 years ago whe he took over my pool. He was the kind of man I wish I could deal with in all my business dealings, pleasant, honest , diligent and reasonable in addition to an engaged personality. He will be sorely missed. Mary Ellen, boys - Mom & Dad, so sorry to hear about Larry. I don't get home often but do believe we (Gene and I) got to see him 3 years ago, when we got back to visit Jane-Jim Spiller. We are so very, very sorry for your loss.
He was just a wonderful guy and I know he'll be greatly miss.

Growing up next door to the Schmidt family, I was forever in awe of Larry’s physical power and prowess. There was no feat he didn’t master quickly with his innate athletic aplomb. At Lake Sunapee he was no different. When making a hard turn while waterskiing slalom, he stopped the boat. Despite having the strength of a bull and Olympian ability, at least in my eyes, he was always friendly, kind and helpful. In my memory, Larry will always be that insouciant bull willing to drop what he was doing and lend a helping hand.
As friends since childhood and our teens years, it hurt to hear of his passing.

To Mr. and Mrs Schmidt, Ellen, Mary, Barbara and the entire Schmidt family...I was so sad to hear about Larry's sudden passing. Though I did not know Larry personally, I did spend many years swimming on the same team with Mary, Ellen and Barbara. I recently lost both my parents so I know the grief you are all going through. I send my deepest and sincerest sympathies to the entire Schmidt family. Mare, Kevin, Kyle,Kasea, Chelsea, & Schmidt family, I am so sorry for your loss my prayers and thoughts are with you all. I know you will all be strong for each other and get thru this painfull sad time. My memories date back to the Note days thru the years of my visits up there to Time Out great boat rides "Who's buying? great fishing, great meals, Larry always did for all and in his big hearted way. Great memories of driving to the west coast of Fl. to spend time with you all as you vacationed. I am so sorry I couldn't make it up there, the weather wasn't agreeable. My heart goes out to you all. Dear Ruth, Larry Sr., Gerrie and the entire extended Schmidt family,
I was so very saddened to hear of "little" Larry's passing. As neighbors of the Schmidt family during the 60's and early 70's, not only was Gerrie a great friend but the whole family was a big, beautiful part of my childhood & teenage years.....a wonderful and generous friendship with so many, many lovely memories of happy times.

Ken and All of the Schmidt Family,
Our hearts break at hearing about "UNCLE LARRY". What a great "larger than life" guy! We were blessed to have had to opportunity to meet him and spent time together on the slops. I am sure that "Jon Claude Schmidt" is flying down the slops of heaven's highest mountains and rattling the trees with his laughter!
