Lisa Droney Obituary

Lisa Marie-Martinelli Droney
Lisa Marie-Martinelli Droney, 59, beloved wife of Kieran Droney of Norwalk passed away unexpectedly while recovering from an epic battle with pneumonia on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024.
She was born in Port Chester, New York, on December 1st, 1964, to the late Raymond and Anne Martinelli. Before going to college, she lived happily as a Greenwich girl.
Lisa was a proud graduate of Greenwich High School (class of '83) and Dean College (class of '85). Her early careers involved Fashion Merchandising, car sales, business administration and liquor sales. Then she found her true calling of being a wife and mother.
In the summer of '88 while at work, an electrician saw a spark in her eyes and found the nerve to ask her out to lunch. Before the 1980's ended, Kieran proposed. Lisa held out until the 1990's to accept. Their first and forever house is in Norwalk, where Lisa made it a home. Austin John was born in 1993, Taylor Marie followed in 1995 and Yo arrived in 2003. The final puzzle piece, to a perfect family, was Kasey Ray in 2007.
For the last 34 years, Lisa was committed to making friends with "everyone" in Norwalk, while maintaining her relationships in Greenwich, Stamford and worldwide.
Lisa's passions included cooking, gardening with her hubby, watching Star Wars with her "one and only son", beach bumming with her Bird (Taylor), crafting, painting, drawing with her Kas-Kas, anything that had to do with snowmen or lighthouses, unwinding on Animal Crossing, antiquing, and most importantly preparing for Santa's arrival.
Fortunately for Kieran and the kids, Lisa's recipes are documented @howtocookwithoutabook on Instagram. She was very proud to have people interact with her on her cooking page if you would like to follow.
In addition to her husband of 34 years, Lisa is survived by her children, siblings, soul sister Michele and her Masi family.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 27th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 2:00 p.m., at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT.

Lisa you will always be missed. The Angels in heaven are having a big party because they welcomed another angel to their family. I was so heartbroken to hear the sad news. My deepest sympathy for the family. Lisa and I knew eachother since our kids went to elementary school. We both share something in common the age of our kids. Ustin was in the same class as my daugther Katherine, Taylor and Jessica had classes together and Kayse and Guillermo didnt have classes together in middle school or high school. Everytime we see eachother, we would talk about our kids and she was so a proud mother, her kids were her life. Her bkue eyes lit up more and more everytime she talk about the kids. I also will l Iike to share that because of her I actually notice a sunflower that is made out of wood that hahgs on one of my doors, she said that she love sunflowers, thats why she noticed it, I was looking at that on Monday and realized and said to myself if Lisa sees me she will probably say that it needs some brighten up a bit. I need to repainted it is dull. Thank you Lisa for noticing it.

I was totally heartbroken to hear of the loss of Lisa. Lisa and I knew of each other in GHS she was a year behind me. We never got to become friends until we added each other on Facebook as she and I shared many of the same friends. We would comment on each other´s posts and stories. She was such a sweet friend always positive and always posting pictures of her family. I always enjoyed her cooking picture's of dinners, desserts etc. I told her I didn´t cook a lot and she offered to help me anyway she could and to follow her cooking page on instagram. Rest In Peace my sweet friend. Sending love and prayers to her beautiful family I am so very sorry

I am so saddened by the loss of Lisa. She was always ready with a smile, and if one thing stood out with the pride, she took in her family. Her eyes literally twinkle that she spoke about them. Rest in peace, my friend.
