NICHOLAS M. COTELLESSA SR.

NICHOLAS M. COTELLESSA SR., 87, of Rowayton, husband of the late Barbara V. Manjuck Cotellessa, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Greenwich Woods Health Care Center in Greenwich. Born November 27, 1923 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Angelo Cotellessa Sr. and Domenica Caputo Cotellessa. Mr. Cotellessa participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps during World War II. He worked at the Laminated Shim Company for more than 30 years before becoming one of the founders of Blaisdell East Mfg. where he was part owner and vice president of engineering until his retirement. He was also an avid boater and fisherman on Long Island Sound. Mr. Cotellessa is survived by his son, Nicholas M. Cotellessa Jr., and his wife, Wendy of Norwalk and daughters, Susan Cotellessa and her husband, David McElrath of Mohegan Lake, NY, and Deborah Cotellessa of San Diego, Calif. He is also survived by his sisters, Anne Valentine of Southbury, Rose Springer of Stamford, and Angie Vaiuso of Sandy Hook; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Josephine Parte and Mary Terico. Friends may call on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, 85 South Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
