Dear Jenna, Evan and Pina's extended family,

I can't find the right words to tell you how sad my family and I feel for you all.

Jenna, do you remember Billy Sherman and Doolittle Elementary School and how you and your mom were able to bring Jane Goodall to school?!!! I remember Pina telling stories how you would sit on Jane Goodall's lap! Pina was so excited for all us and she wanted to share her excitement in doing for others with your classmates and friends!

May God watch over you both...

Our deepest sympathy,

Debbie and Bill Sherman and Billy

Dear Jenna and Evan,

I would like to share the pain of your loss. I love your Mom. Although we have been known each other for the last 9 months, we are like in a family. Your Mom put a great impression in my life with her loving and caring for other. She came to my house to teach my son guitar, simply because "that is what friends are for." Her smile, love, and kindness are always with us.

Love,

Mai - friend at work

Having spent the past 9 months, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day sitting next to Pina at Insurance Advisors, to say there is a void in my life is putting it mildly. I hear her every moment of the day & hope she hears me too (as I occasionally will speak to her). Jenna & Evan my thoughts are with you every day. I know you felt your Mothers' love, but let me attest to just how much she loved & cared for you both. To her brothers & sisters I extend my deepest sympathies & know that I'll never forget her & will always have her in my heart. I'm glad I was given the opportunity to know her.

Evan and Jenna - I am so sorry for your loss... your mother was an amazing person and I feel so fortunate to have had in her my life as a friend and a mentor. The summers at Camps Sachem and Sassacus were some of my favorite and I always appreciated her warmth and honesty (even if I didn't always want to hear it!) My thoughts are with you...

To Evan, Jenna and all of Pina's family, I send my heartfelt condolences. I met Pina at Mixville Lake in Cheshire some 18 years ago and our kids became friends. I will always remember Pina's kindness and wonderful smile. She was a good person and we had lots of fun times together. She helped me with my Tupperware business and gave me lots of house painting tips! I'm sorry we only ran into each other around town and never really got together when she returned to Cheshire from California. I am lucky to have known her.

Words cannot express the depth of this loss. The joy, laughter and friendship which Pina so freely shared with us all is like no other. So full of life, passionate, spirited, supportive and caring.

In a series of recent emails, I shared with Pina how the pain from the loss of my best friend Kenny was still with me twenty five years later. The void left by her passing will be equally traumatic and everlasting.

Today's memorial service was nothing short of amazing. The music, the stories and the emotion is all so overwhelming. God Bless Pina and all of you, her dear friends and family and especially Evan and Jenna. Love always,

Pina and I first met over 30 years ago in high school. Her joie de vivre is unforgettable, as is her friendliness, sense of humor, and caring for others. Pina lifted the spirits of those around her. Our world was a happier place with her in it and our loss is heaven's gain. Pina always held a special place in my heart and always will. My condolences to her family.

I met Pina in High School over 30 years ago and we became great friends. She will be missed by everyone that ever knew her because she was truely an angel. Her sense of humor was continuous and her kindness was endless. The memories of our times together so long ago will remain with me forever. I still laugh when I think of the many parties we were at together. Pina was always the center of attention. She was fun loving and was able to make anyone feel comfortable that was new to our circle of friends. My heart goes out to all of her family. Love you and miss you, Pina!!

I have been great friends with Pina since high school. She is a member of our family. I know the dragonfly story and gave Pina a pair of earrings shaped as dragonflys years ago. Our friend Cindy and I were just talking about it, and Cindy was going to make a copy of the story for me. I've asked the florist to include dragonfly ornaments in the flower arrangement we will be sending for the calling hours. Pina is a such a giving person. She made everyone feel loved and very special. Her spirit will be alive in everyone who was blessed to have known her.

Pina truly loved her family and I hope that they will be comforted by memories of Pina and her zest for life.

She was a former co-worker and friend of mine, and she was always ready to lend a hand and share a tear or a laugh.

The dragonfly had special meaning to Pina, and from now on whenever you see one, think of Pina and smile.
