Richard Quick Obituary

DR. RICHARD F. QUICK of Stamford died suddenly Monday, he was 79. Born in Floral Park, N.Y., April 3, 1930 to the late Ida M. Quick and John F. Quick, he grew up in Ridgefield. Dr. Quick was a 1949 graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School and a 1953 graduate of Fairfield University. After serving as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in Korea, Dr. Quick graduated from the Temple School of Podiatry in Philadelphia in 1959. He established a successful podiatry practice in Stamford where he practiced for more than 40 years with his twin brother, Dr. Alan J. Quick. Dr. Quick was an active parishioner of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Darien where he was an usher. He was a member of the Darien Senior Center where he enjoyed and became an accomplished water color artist and was also a member of the Stamford Senior Center where he was an avid ping pong and pool player. Dr. Quick also loved boating and fishing on Long Island Sound. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maureen Connell Quick of Stamford; his son, Kevin J. Quick of Stamford; his twin brother, Dr. Alan J. Quick of Norwalk; his sister, Gloria Gray of Wilton; his sister, Mary Jayne Lilley of Wilton; as well as ten nieces and nephews. There will be calling hours at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford on Friday, December 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. and a Memorial Mass at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Darien on Saturday, December 12 at 11:30am.
