Robert Labella Obituary

Robert D. Labella
July 16, 1962 - March 25, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce Robert Daniel Labella, 60, of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 25th.
Robert was predeceased by his father Richard LaBella Sr. He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica and Rachel, his mother Patricia, siblings Richard and his wife Josephine, Ronny and his wife Toni, Patti and her husband Steve, and Roger, as well as the mother of his children Marianna.
Robert was born on July 16, 1962, and attended Stamford High School. He went on to become a machinist at Pitney Bowes before discovering his true passion of refereeing and umpiring throughout Fairfield County.
Robert was truly a larger-than-life figure, and loved by all who knew him. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger and always gave everything and more to his friends and family. Robert was a loving, hilarious father, dedicated sports referee, and renowned for his huge heart and warm laugh. Robert lit up a room, and his presence will always remain unmatched.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at The Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT, (203)-359-9999. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 3rd, at St. Mary's Church 556 Elm St Stamford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity which Robert donated to whenever he had the chance.

My deepest sympathy's to the Labella family!

Robert was always great to be around and will easily be remembered. He always greeted me with a sincere and boisterous hello when we ran to each other. When hanging out in our younger days, I remember his appreciation of music and I'll never forget when a familiar tune was playing he'd shoot out a line of lyrics in perfect pitch, complimenting not only the tune but our time spent together as well. He left us way to soon and I'll never forget him. Robert will rock on forever in my heart!

Rob- I still cant believe it. I have known you for over 20 years and you were always the kindest person I have met. I will miss your laughs and talks we used to have. You were always a kind person to me and my husband. If we needed a favor you were quick to say Angela I can do it for you. We will truly miss you. Heaven gained another angel. RIP my friend XOXO
