Sandra Cunningham Obituary
CUNNINGHAM, Sandra of Stamford, CT, passed away on October 13, 2025, at age 83.
Born in Maryland, Sandra earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and built a distinguished career, contributing to projects that included flight simulators and elevator design for the World Trade Center. She was an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy, especially Star Trek, and a talented seamstress, who created beautiful costumes and quilts for family and friends. Sandra had a lifelong love of animals, particularly birds, cats, and horses, and was a member of the Greenwich Riding & Trails Association.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick; her brother, William; her children, Heather, Michael, Rosanne, and Sharon; and her grandchildren, Madrid, Mason, Morrisen, and Hana.
A memorial service will be held 2-4pm Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center – Henri Bendel Mansion, 39 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River House Adult Day Center of Cos Cob, CT.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all caregivers, friends, and family who offered support during her final days.
