Theodora A. "Teddi" Burtis
It is with great sadness that the family of Theodora "Teddi" A. Burtis, 82, of Seymour, announces her passing at home peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones, on December 8, 2025.
She was born in Stamford on May 16, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Mae and Theodore Coppola. Teddi was a graduate of J.M. Wright Technical School, where she completed her certification in Cosmetology and worked for many years at Vincent Richards and Creations by Kathleen Salon. She dedicated her life to her family and cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and friend.
Teddi is survived by her children, Valoree Duquette and her husband Scott of Fort Mill, SC, David W. Burtis, III and his wife Janaye of Seymour, and Andrea Velez and her husband Esteban of Stamford, as well as her beloved six grandchildren, Alexandrea Velez, David W Burtis, IV, Ryan Burtis, Grayson Duquette, Nora Duquette and Nicholas Duquette.
Besides her parents, Teddi was also predeceased by her husband, David W. Burtis, Jr. and grandson, Esteban Velez, Jr.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 8:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
