Bernadine Elko, 92, formerly of McAdoo, passed away Saturday morning at St. Luke's Nursing Center, Coaldale.
Born in McAdoo, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Suhena) Yursha.
She was a member of St. Mary's U.C. Church, McAdoo, and also enjoyed attending services at the Franciscan monastery, Sugarloaf Twp.
Prior to retiring, Bernie was employed in the area garment industry, and later by Hazleton Area School District.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, William Elko; sister, Dorothy Yursha; brothers, Vladimir, Eugene and Allan Yursha; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Herceg) Yursha; nephew, William Yursha; and niece, Kathy (Yursha) Macey.
Surviving, are her sister-in-law, Betty Jane Yursha, McAdoo; nieces and nephews, Mark, Kenneth, Robert, Stephen, James, Michael and Marie Yursha, Donna Price, Mary Johnston, Ann Lehr and Julie Bukowski; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday from Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo.
The Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's U.C. Church, McAdoo, by the Rev. D. George Worshack. Burial will be held in St. Mary's U.C. Cemetery, McAdoo, at the convenience of the family.
Friends and family may call from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
