Carol I. Solarek, 79, of Freeland, passed away Thursday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Hazel (Hunnsinger) Wagner. Carol had previously been a machine operator at Freeland Garment Companies. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann's Church, Freeland.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Leonard Solarek, in 2003; and a brother, Russell Wagner.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Solarek and wife, Sherri, Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Bernadette Solarek, at home; grandchildren, Christopher Solarek and Katlyn Solarek; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Parish, 898 Centre St., Freeland. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, 249 Centre St., Freeland, is in charge of arrangements.
