Carole Ann McMinn, 82, of Drums died Friday morning at her home with her family by her side.
Born in Upland on June 17, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Carroll B. and Margaret (Dryden) Simpson and relocated to Wilmington, Del. early in life.
She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1957 and went on to earn an associate degree in accounting from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington.
Carole was a strong believer and had a dedicated faith. She was a very active member of Grace Baptist Church of Hazleton, where she was a partner in ministry with her late husband Stanley who served as lead pastor at Grace for many years. She loved her family and friends and was always an encouraging and positive influence in their lives.
Carole was a very talented watercolor artist who had the honor of working under Andrew Wyeth. She was a wonderful cook and her family will remember her for her lifelong dedication to caring for them and their home.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Stanley W. McMinn.
Surviving are her sons, Robert C. McMinn and his wife, Helen, Clarks Summit; William McMinn and his wife, Jeri, Jefferson, Ohio; Michael P. McMinn and his girlfriend, Heidi Marion, Clarks Summit; and Steven McMinn and his wife, Tina, Drums. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; and sisters, Joan Bernard; Priscilla Parker and her husband, James; and Susan Lafontaine and her husband, Roy.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing period that will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 530 W. Butler Drive, Drums.
Everyone is again invited to gather Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, 556 Samuels Ave., Hazleton, for a funeral service that will begin at 10 a.m. Carole's son, the Rev. William McMinn will preside. Burial will follow in St. Johns Lutheran and United Church of Christ Cemetery, St. Johns.
