Dolores C. Sheaman

1928 - 2019

Dolores C. Sheaman, 91, of Hazle Twp., and formerly of Freeland, passed away Saturday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, after a brief illness.

Born in Freeland on July 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Gertrude (DeJohn) Cupp, and lived in Freeland for most of her life. Prior to retirement, Dolores worked as a Customer Service Representative for PP&L and spent many years as a devoted mother and homemaker.

A tireless worker, Dolores took pride not only in her work, but also in her family and her abilities as a homemaker and baker. She loved traveling and reading novels. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freeland, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a brother, Albert Cupp; a sister, Audrey (Cupp) Delese; and an uncle, George DeJohn.

Surviving are sons, Charles Sheaman and wife, Peggy, Greensboro, N.C.; and Mark Sheaman and wife, Shirley, Drums; daughter, Karen (Sheaman) Stonis and husband, Robert, White Haven; grandchildren, Bonnie (Sheaman) Bobis, Freeland; Tim and Jeffrey Sheaman, Greensboro, N.C.; Eric Stolpe, White Haven; Laura Stolpe, Harrisburg; Krista Stolpe, White Haven; Mark Sheaman, Pittsburgh; John Sheaman, Lansford; Valerie Sheaman, Kingston; Vanessa Sheaman, Drums; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Cupp) Pavlick, Freeland; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 627 Main St., Freeland, followed by burial in Freeland Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
