Eileen C. Kuchinsky, 74, of Pottsville passed away Saturday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, East Norwegian Street.
Born in Shamokin on Nov. 18, 1946, she was a daughter of the late James F. and Irene M. (Rhoades) McCormick.
She married her loving husband, Anthony Kuchinsky on Oct. 16, 1971.
Eileen was a graduate of Penn State Schuylkill and Pottsville Hospital School of Medical Technology.
She worked as a phlebotomist for Omega Labs, Good Samaritan Hospital and Pottsville Hospital.
Eileen was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, especially amigurumi animals and popular figures. Eileen loved to read and space station watching with her husband and grandson, Brett. She enjoyed learning to drive all over again with grandson, Jacob, and baking with granddaughter, Cheyenne.
In addition to her husband, Eileen is also survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen, wife of Dale Cochran, Macungie; and Tina Kuchinsky and her fiancé, Mike Wiley, Hazleton.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Jacob Freil, Mahanoy City; Cheyenne Cochran, Macungie; and Brett Cochran, Macungie; as well as a sister, Marie, wife of Stan Poremba, Kulpmont; a brother, James F., husband of Diane McCormick, Shamokin; niece, Denise Hackman and husband, Cory, Highspire; nephew, James Kuchinsky Jr. and wife, Susan, Auburn; and brother-in-law, James A. Kuchinsky Sr. and wife, Nancy, Summerfield, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her sister, Catherine, in 2018; brother, Andrew, in 1963, nephew, Edward "EJ," in 1991; and niece, Kristen, in 2018.
A Catholic memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
Interment will be privately held.
