Jerome J. Burkat, 86, of Hazleton, died on Tuesday, at Allied Skilled Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born and raised in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Max and Helen Burkat. Jerry lived his entire life in Hazleton and raised his family here. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of AIS. Jerry was dedicated to his Jewish faith and had a love of cars.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife, Elaine; a son, Mark; and a sister, Wilma Steinberg.
Surviving are his daughter, Ronda Jones and husband, Steve; a son, Howard; granddaughters, Hanna and Samantha; and a niece and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Fierro Funeral Home, Hazleton. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
