Jerome F. "Jerry" Staruch, 82, of Hazle Twp., passed away Friday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Slank) Staruch and was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton.
He was a Marine veteran and was a machinist at Weatherly Casting and Machine Company for more than 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the Pioneer Fire Company.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his son, Joseph; brothers, Joseph, Thomas and Robert; and sisters, Catherine Feissner and Patricia Verba.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Ellen McGill; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Staruch; great-grandson, Elijah; twin sister, Mary Bodnar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Most Precious Blood Church. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Freeland. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
