Mildred Deritis, 95, of Hazle Twp., passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at her daughter's home, where she had been residing.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred (Panzarella) Clatch, and was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.
She worked in the local garment factory, and was an avid cook and baker and worked for her brother-in-law's restaurant, Bunny's Lounge. Before retiring, she worked at the Hazleton Area School District.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, John J. Deritis, in 1988; brother, Anthony Clatch; and sisters, Janet Jurica and Anna Mae Rough.
Surviving are her daughter, Paula Mehallo and husband, George; loving granddaughter, best friend and caretaker until the end, Carolyn Mehallo; brother, Joseph Clatch and wife, Dolores, Pardeesville; sister-in-law, Ruth (Anthony) Clatch, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
The family will receive friends from 9 and 10 a.m. Monday in the church.
