Patricia Tobias, 76, of Hazleton passed away peacefully at home Thursday surrounded by her family after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Bartenope) Frask.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Eugene "Kyte" Tobias; and sisters, Theresa Bunchalk and Annette Mariano.

Surviving are her son, Christopher Tobias and his wife, Shelly; beloved grandsons, Evan and Mason; a sister, Rosemary Chicalese and husband, Joseph; and brother-in-law, Henry Mariano, all of Hazleton; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Patty had a huge heart and a genuine love for life. She loved music and old movies, playing cards and anything that brought people together. What really separated her from most was her passion and sincerity for putting the needs of others before her own. She was always there to help or to listen or to make you laugh with a joke or her quick wit when it was needed most. One way or another, she always brought a smile to everyone's face. She truly leaves this world a better place than she found it, and her eternal optimism and caring nature will forever live on in those who were blessed to know her best.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, private services will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of Fierro Funeral Service Inc., Hazleton.
