Robert J. Ward

The funeral of Robert J. Ward, former fire chief of West Hazleton, who died Jan. 9, was held Saturday from Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc.

The Rev. Mariusz Beczek celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial in Annunciation Parish at the Church of St. Gabriel, assisted by Deacon Vincent Oberto, chaplain of West Hazleton Fire Department. Oberto offered the final blessing at the West Hazleton Fire Department.

Members of the West Hazleton Fire Department along with relatives were pallbearers who placed him on a West Hazleton engine for a final response.

Military honors were accorded him by an active duty honor guard from the U.S. Army, assisted by members of American Legion Post 76.

Robert was a long-time member of our PAD Camping Family Group. He was a kind man and always willing to help others. He was always an attraction when walking his Dalmatian puppies. He was more than just a customer to PAD..he was a good friend. He will be missed by many. RIP Bob!
