Thomas J. Hanincik, 68, of Hazle Twp. passed away Thursday evening in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
He was born in Hazleton, son of the late Joseph B. and Cecelia (Koziel) Hanincik. He was a member of the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board in the maintenance department and prior to that by Penske as a diesel mechanic. Thomas was also very skilled at carpentry.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Thomas; daughters, Kellie Ann Hanincik and her husband, Bryan Sullivan, Tampa, Fla.; Amanda Hanincik and her fiancée, Julie Amato, Easton; Kathy Ann Hanincik and her fiancé, Jared Bainbridge, Pine Grove; a brother and sisters, Joseph Hanincik, Hazleton; Theresa Hanincik and fiancé, Michael Karmonick, Hazleton; Donna Hanincik Rounds, Hazleton; Christine Wilczynski, Denmark; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton.
Interment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Freeland.
Friends and relatives may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the funeral.
Arrangements are under the direction of Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., Hazleton.
