Albert Affeldt Obituary
Age 80 of Elmira, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Traue; children, Albert G. (Adela) Affeldt, San Antonio, TX, Michele Ann Ruth, David Affeldt, both of Elmira; step chidren, James Traue, San Diego, CA, Christine (Dave) Wilcox, Tampa, FL, Tim Traue, Elmira; grandchildren, Lillie, Albert, Christian, Christmas (Joy) , & Derek; step-grandchildren, Ava & Evan Wilcox who called him Papa Bear; sisters, Mary Theresa Waite, Elmira, Jane (Fred) Edmister, Webb Mills; several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; pre-deceased by his wife, Cynthia and his daughter, Brenda Marie Thrasher. Al was retired from Thatcher Glass, YMCA, AMSA., TES., and Hanner Securities. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish and a US Army Veteran. Those wishing may make a donation in Al's memory to the American Cancer Society (envelopes available at the Funeral Home). The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kalec Funeral Home on Monday, April 27th from 3 to 6 pm. His Funeral Service immediately following at 6 pm. Burial at the convenience of the Family in Woodlawn National Cemetery.

To the Affeldt and Edminster families..I am just getting caught up on local news and saw the notice of Al's passing. I send my condolences to you all. I worked at Olan Mills one summer long ago. Jane was my supervisor and I met Al while I was there. We always had a fun time. You are in my thoughts...

Mr.Affeldt touched many lives, and will be missed. I have many fond memories with him from Wranglers Drum and Baton Corps. We won many championships under his watchful eye. My deepest condolences to his family and closest friends. RIP Mr.A

Affeldt Family, my thoughts and prayers to you all, I know Al ( Alffie ) from euchre, he always brought a smile or a laugh to anyone around,He will be truely miss'd by all,and everyone who ever partner'd with him in the games, He always Loved the shrimp i took to the end of the tourney's.Not only was he my partner in cards, he was also my neighbor....Rest in peace my freind,Fly high...

Dad, I'm going to miss you more than you know. But my memories of my childhood with you will live on until I go to be with my Lord. Dad, I never told you enough how much I love you and now that you are gone I'm not sure what to do. Now I have this void in my heart because I would call you on the phone. That is gone forever. Hearing you laugh is gone forever. The seeing and touching is gone forever. But God has promised me that I will see you and others again. Oh, what a joy that will be. And now the void is filled. Dad, I will always remember you and will pass it on to my loved ones.
