Alberta Short Obituary
"Bert"
A longtime resident of Pine City passed away Saturday evening, July 28, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital after declining health at the age of 87. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Sunday August 5, 2007 between the hours of 2-4 p.m. A memorial service will take place at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 813 Maple Ave, Elmira, NY 14904 on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. with her pastor, the Reverend James Crupi officiating. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery where Bert will be buried next to her husband, William E. Short. Bert loved living plants or you may donate to the Chemung County SPCA, Pine City Fire Dept., St. Joseph's Hospital, the American Lung Assoc. or the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in her memory.

I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF ALBERTA AS SHE WAS A VERY GOOD CHOIR TEACHER THE TIME SHE WAS AT SOUTHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH WHEN I WENT THERE. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HERE.GOD BLESS HER FAMILY.

Mrs. Short was the best piano teacher when I was growing up. We always had discussions as to what music to learn- classical or rock and roll.Well,the teacher won and I learned classical. It was always a joke as I became an adult. I valued her as a friend and she will be missed.
