Still miss Barb so much!!

As I continue to miss my friend and neighbor, Barb, it occurs to me that our world is fill of horror because quality, kind, sacrificing, and GOOD people like Barb are no longer in this world. I still can recall the first time I met Barb. She had just roared up the hill in her white caddy, home from work, coming directly to check on her mom and dad, Bill and Isabel. I noticed her manicured nails and her big hair but above all her dedication to her mom and dad. As her neighbor, I learned immediately how generous and devoted she was to all she came across. I was very lucky to be in her world.

I still look over to barbs porch where she sat with her coffee either on the phone supporting her many friends and relatives or perusing catalogues and magazines and miss my time spent with her on that porch. She always had a cup of coffee for me and time to listen. I miss her meticulously polished nails.
I still see her working in the garden till after sundown on her hands and knees but enjoying it. I suspect she was also consulting with bud in the quiet.
I miss the many manhattans we shared in barbs special Manhattan glasses that were very small but refilled numerous times. I miss hearing her voice when she belted out Bud or Missy or Molly or Berta or Hanna or Heidi or Morris.
She was such a joy to have as a friend and neighbor. I miss her.

I look over frequently to see the beauty of barb’s passion shown in her gardening and landscaping which is next door to me. I also wish I could stop over and have coffee with her like I did on many summer mornings and seek her wisdom, opinions, support, and advice on all things that matter.
I miss Barb!!

I was fortunate to work with Barb from 1989-91. Thank you for the memories that I will cherish, too.

Barb and I worked in The Purchasing Dept. together decades ago when I first joined Corning Glass Works. I've thought of her often over the years... she was my mentor, teacher, friend and 'critic'. She made work fun! I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Barb and Bud were very dear friends of my parents who have also passed. She was always the most loving, supportive, generous person to my family. I hope Jean, Lloyd, Bud and Barb are in heaven having a beer together reminiscing old times. My deepest sympathy to Martha, Cathy, Margaret Claire and Georgie. I loved her too.

Barbara and I worked together at Corning in the mid 1980s. I remember her cheery disposition and strong work ethic. She was a fantastic person, and I am sorry that she has left us.

To Margaret and other family members, I read the obituary -- your mother was quite an accomplished and interesting woman with all of the achievements, the greatest of which was birthing and raising four children. My heartfelt sympathy is being sent to all who loved her and knew her. Susan Hutt

To the Haar Family,
I am so sad to hear of Barb's passing. She was a dear friend to me and my family. She was always there to help me whenever in time of need. She loved my Mom and me. She was the one who went with me to see Dr Shaikh when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. She brought many meals to me when I was recovering from my surgery . She made wonderful dinners for her Science Products girls. It was always so nice for us to get together for dinner with her at various restaurants too. She has a wonderful caring family and many great friends. I know I will miss her and so will all her friends & family.
Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Love,
Max (Condon) ❤

I will miss my friend Barb enormously. She was a confidant, a cheerleader and an advisor to me in so many things. She was honest and gentle. She was supportive. She was welcoming. She was smart and independent. She appeared many times with lemon lime Gatorade when she found out I wasn't feeling well. She insisted that I have it on hand and I have 2 bottles in the pantry always. She made me many of my favorite bday cake, German chocolate, through the 30 years I was lucky enough to have her next door.
She loved manicures, her Irish music and of course Bud, Molly, Hannah, berta, Heidi, missy, Morris. She drove up and down our hill numerous times daily and her energy was boundless whether to help Bill and Isabel or another friend or family member.
I will miss her enormously.

Barb was more than a friend. Her and George ( Bud ) were our best friends. They were a perfect pair, she can be with him now. Their parties were legendary. Perfect hosts and the bar was always open. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get back as often as would have liked. She will be missed as we have missed George. God Bless Martha; Kathy; Georgie and Margaret Claire, we love you all.
