Betty Murphy

Betty Phalen Age 77, of Little Meadows, PA, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, September 9, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, M. James Murphy; and her parents, Will and Ida Phalen. She is survived by her children, Timothy and Cheryl Murphy, Elmira, James and Karen Murphy, Liverpool, Loretta and Tom Bassett, Orlando, FL, Daniel Murphy, Little Meadows, Marty and Tina Murphy, Apalachin, Thomas Murphy, Little Meadows, Patrick and Gail Murphy, Nichols; 12 grandchildren, Michael and Claire Bassett, Colin, Ryan, Megan, Joseph, Kathleen, Neal, Brian, Matthew, Tyler and Kylie Murphy; a great-grandchild, Alyssa; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Ruth Murphy, William and Mary Barno, Little Meadows, William Dempsey, Robert Hanagan, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Little Meadows, PA, and the Altar-Rosary Society. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Little Meadows, PA. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Betty may be made to the Little Meadows Rescue Squad, Little Meadows, PA 18830.
