Beverly Friebis Obituary
Beverly Jean Friebis, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY. Beverly was born August 24, 1930 in Corning, NY. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Estella (Price) Cook. Her husband, Edward P. Friebis, recently passed away on February 19, 2015. After graduating from Painted Post High School, she began working for the New York Telephone Company. Beverly and Edward shared their life together for 65 years. They lived in Lindley for a few years prior to moving to Big Flats where they raised their four children. Beverly enjoyed baking, preparing meals for her family and visiting with her siblings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to picnics and family gatherings. She will always be remembered for her gentle and caring spirit. Beverly is survived by her daughter: Lynn (Jerry) Gardner of Dundee, NY; three sons: Terry (Doreen) Friebis of Painted Post, David (Linda) Friebis of Elmira Heights and Michael (Maryann) Friebis of Elmira; eight grandchildren: Michelle (Stephen) Lembo, Gabrielle and Gillian Friebis, Ryan, Joshua and Michael Friebis, Nickolas (Hannah) Cosmore and Maci Cosmore; great-granddaughter: Kaitlyn Lembo; two sisters: Delores (Paul) King and Anita (William) Sutton; brother: Larry (Judy) Cook; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson: Steven E. Friebis; two brothers: Clyde and Darrell (Gail) Cook; two sisters: Edith (Russell) Rose and Alvena (Robert) Cornell. At Beverly's request, funeral services will be private at Carpenter's Funeral Home in Corning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly's memory to CareFirst (formerly Southern Tier Hospice), 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY 14870. Very Sorry for your loss. I will always remember Aunt Bev and Uncle Ed with a smile on their face as they greeted me to come in their home whenever I passed by as a kid growing up. I will always remember them. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
