Burton Hesselson Obituary
Age 88 of Tamarac, FL, formerly of Elmira, NY, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, at Congregation Kol Ami, 1008 W. Water St., Elmira at 11:00 a.m. Abraham Golos officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Street Cemetery, Elmira. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing may make donations to Congregation Kol Ami or Hadassah. Burt is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriett; children and spouses, Peggie and David, Thomas and Suzanne, Barbara and Michael and Lori; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Burt was the founder of Hesselson's of Elmira Heights, a member of Congregation Kol Ami, chairman of the village planning Commission, a member of the village Retail Merchants Association Board of Directors. Burt was an avid golfer and photographer. ARRANGEMENTS BY BAKER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.

My grandfather was a member of the Broward Camera Club and won an award the same year Burt started. I wonder if they rubbed elbows. I am trying to find a way to spread his photos to people who can appreiciate them. If anyone in this family is interested in teaming up for this purpose, I am happy to hear from them.

Mr Hesselson was a good guy who always took time to talk to us as kids when we were at the store. He helped build the community. My sympathy to his family.
