Beecher, Delores Anne "Dolle"

Dolores Anne Beecher, "Dolle", 76, of Avon Park, FL, passed away Thursday, Jan 12, 2012 after a short illness at Hope Hospice, Sebring, FL. She was born Sept. 26, 1935 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Anne (Serdula) and John Telehany. She married Robert J. Beecher on Aug 25, 1954 in a freshly plowed farm field. He predeceased her on Jan. 19, 1983. She was alone for a number of years before finding love again with Marc Mangus and they married on March 7, 2002. Dolle was a volunteer firefighter in Beaver Dams, NY, in the first group of women trained to handle such matters. She was also on the Board of Elections for Schuyler County. Additionally she was a cafeteria lady at Beaver Valley Elementary School. She was a homemaker for twenty years before retuning to the work in the mid 70's for the Harrisburg Housing Authority. Dolle retired as a manager in 1996. After moving to Florida in 2002, she volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary at Florida Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She had a great sense of humor, loved to read, and collect recipe books, but not necessarily making any of the recipes. She liked to travel, enjoyed playing bingo, and watching television. She is survived by her husband; Marc, son, Jay Beecher of Chester, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Rick Willsey of Elmira Heights, NY; daughter, Jane Beecher Wilson of Harrisburg, PA; grandchildren, Nicole Barnard, Jason Beecher, Christopher Willsey, Joshua Wilson, Nathaniel Wilson; great-grandchild, Meadow Barnard and another great-grandchild due this month. Funeral services will be held at convenience of the family.
