Rosemary King Obituary

King, Rosemary

Of Southport, passed away Sun., Jan. 22, 2012 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility following declining health at the age of 82. Born on Dec. 27, 1929 in Binghamton, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Earl Bowman & Violet Davis Sydock. She was employed for many years at Trayer Products as a machine operator. She married Peter King on June 26, 1971 in Elmira. A devoted homemaker, Rosemary enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing and raising her large family of ten children. Surviving is her loving husband of 40 years, Peter King, Southport; children, Linda Diann Sheets, Edward Lee (Gale) Sheets, Suzanne Marie Christian, Sherry Ann Sheets, Penny Mae (Alvin) Roberts, Sandra Karen Coleman, Victoria Lynn (William) Payne, Paula Kay (Al) Durgin, Brenda Joyce Sheets, and Melissa Ann Perry all of Elmira; brothers-in-law, John (Barb) King, Pine City; Paul (Delores) King, Pine City; and David (Edna) King, Rochester; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her sisters, Wanda Bowman and Virginia Weizorezk; sons-in-law, Rocky Coleman and Richard Durgin. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Thur. Jan. 26, 2012 between the hours of 6-8 pm. Funeral services will follow at 8:15 pm. Following services, Rosemary will be cremated and her ashes interred in the Columbarium at Woodlawn National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice in her memory.
