Dorothy Hertel Obituary
On the morning of Friday, October 9th, 2009, Canton resident Dorothy Ann (Davison) Hertel passed away quietly at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center. She was 75 years of age. Born in Canton on July 1st, 1934, she was the daughter of James and Hermina (Dreste) Davison. Dorothy graduated from Canton High School with the Class of 1952. A few years later she married David Eugene Hertel, and together they raised two children and shared 54 years. She was also currently employed as a secretary for Canton Manufacturing, serving 46 years. Dorothy enjoyed the company of her family and friends, and was a member of the Ruby Rascals Red Hatters Club. She is survived by her husband, David, at home; son, Mitchell (Sofia) Hertel of Mansfield; daughter, Kristi (Phillip) Foote of Lowman, NY; and brother, Thomas (Joan) Davison of Canton; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her late parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Davison and sister, Hermina B. Davison. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 P.M. Monday, October 12th, at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 40 N. Center St., Canton. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Windfall Cemetery.
