James H. Pollard

POLLARD, James H.
62, of Route 5, Lairdsville, passed away at home on Sunday, April 13, 2008, after a long illness. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 24, 1945, a son of James D. and Virginia Mae Lowther Pollard and grew up in Erie, PA. Jim served as Commander of the National Guard, Mansfield, PA unit for many years, was chief of Osceola Ambulance Corps and was a member of the Osceola Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a salesman for Wehle Electric for many years. On May 26, 1983 he married Ellen Simpson. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; his children, James Donald "Donnie" at home, Carol Phelps of Wellsboro, PA, Virginia Draper of Bath, NY, James F. Pollard of Charleston, AR and Wendy Schaaf of Northwood, NH; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Jan Raffensperger of Prescott, AZ; his stepbrother and stepsisters, Gail Tameris, Genie Keeney, Emery Frome and Laurel Knudsen; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his stepmother, Buddie Mae Pollard. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17th at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main Street, Elkland, PA.
