Jean Blackburn Obituary

Jean Louise (Frankhouser) 83, of Liberty, died Friday, August 23, 2002 at the home of her daughter in Downingtown. She was the wife of the late Edgar M. Blackburn with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Uniontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Salena E. Frankhouser. She was a graduate of South Union High School in Uniontown. Affectionately known as Granny, she was employed as a cafeteria worker for Northern Chester County Vo-Tech School for 13 years before retiring in 1982. She attended services at Centennial United Methodist Church in Trout Run, PA. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Grange for 62 years. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and was an avid gardener. A kid at heart, she enjoyed playing games and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Janet L. Zganjar of Gilbert, MN, Elaine A. Csoboth of Wilmingtom, DE and Pamela J. Rajan of Downingtown; two sons, Robert E. Blackburn of Pleasant Gap, PA and Alan E. Blackburn of Reading; three brothers, Charles W. Frankhouser of Kent, OH, Walter L. Frankhouser of Adah, PA, and Robert W. Frankhouse, Jr. of El Cajon, CA; one sister, Sara Latimer of Exton, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Locally, a funeral service, conducted by Pastor Fred Dilworth, will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service, conducted by Rev. Dr. Kenneth Gunter, and Rev. Dan Lepley, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at Centennial United Methodist Church, Cogan House Road, Trout Run, PA, where family and friends may call from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Liberty, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Fire House, Liberty, PA 16930.
