John Barnes Obituary
Gillett - John J. Barnes, age 76 of Gillett, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. John was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann Barnes; parents, Norman and Lura Warner Barnes; and six siblings. John is survived by his loving children, Loann Barnes, Jeff (Lois) Barnes, Jason (Patriece) Barnes and Daniel Barnes; grandchildren, Felecia, Justin, Tyler, Adam, Mason, Lucas, Kaleb and Evie; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Juliana, Javon and Averie; siblings, Mort Barnes and Norma Barnes Braman; Several cousins, friends, nieces and nephews. John was a proud US Army veteran. He had many interests, which included his genealogy, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. John was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6 pm at Olthof funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue Elmira/Southport, NY. Burial will place at the convenience of the family. John's tribute wall may be signed at www.olthof.com.
