Such a wonderful man, the quiet, confident dignity. Great hikes, great advice, great friendship. Thanks. Strength and courage to Martha, Louise, Charlie, and family - this candle is for you.

Joe brought light and warmth to all who knew him. He was a man of quiet strength and integrity. He made his values known through actions and influenced others peacefully. They will live on in the many lives he impacted.
Martha, Louise and Charlie may you be comforted by the everlasting love he left.

Martha, Louise, Charlie and Cornelia,
All the Monroes and all of Joe's friends far and wide have a huge sense of loss of Joe's presence. He will forever be a model for me to emulate as a lawyer and a human being. I am grateful to have known him.

I was able to see Joe earlier this year, and speak to him. He was a good and kind man. He was a good friend and advisor to my mother, Helen T. Baker. He will miss missed by many. R. Peter Baker

We are thinking of you - Martha, Louise, Charlie, and family - and recalling talks, dinners, hikes, sailings led by my uncle Joe, and involving the Ebenezer Buck Settlement, Keuka Lake, and rivers, streams, and mountains which I didn't know the name of, but which Joe almost always did. A great man. From the Key family

My office is around the corner form Mr. Buck and we always greeted each other when passing in the hallway. I work for Chemung Canal Trust Company. He was such a polite man and though we had no working relationship, I will miss him and I offer my sincere sympathies to his family and friends.

To the Buck family..... Your father/husband/grandfather was such a kind man. We enjoyed when he came into the County clerks office. May the memories of a life well lived help you through the loss of this great man. Prayers to all of you. Katie Hughes and the Girls at the County Clerks office

Martha, Louise, Charlie,
Patty and I offer condolences.
Joe opened my eyes to numerous winter hiking opportunities in this region.
He was a soft spoken, fast paced leader of many winter hikes.
May he rest in peace.
