NOBRIGA, Joseph W.
Age 70, of 8 Jacqueline Drive, Painted Post, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Absolut Care at Three Rivers, Painted Post. Mr. Nobriga was born in Corning on January 28, 1938, the son of the late Peter and the late Maxine (Beebe) Nobriga. He married Phyllis R. Cevette on January 8, 1983 in Addison, NY. She survives him. Joe graduated from Addison Central School, class of 1957, and served with the U.S. Naval Reserves for 8 years. He was retired from Dresser-Rand, Painted Post, where he had worked for over 40 years as a machinist. Joe was an avid sportsman who enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. He loved outdoor photography and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Phyllis, are one daughter, Linda (David) Runyan of Elkland, PA; five sons, Michael Nobriga of Lindley, NY, Joseph (Darlene) Nobriga, Jr. of Addison, NY, David Church of Gang Mills, NY, Thomas (Anne) Church of Wolcott, NY, Kevin (Kip) Church of Troy, NY; two sisters, Pauline Donajkowski of Watkins Glen, NY, Phyllis (James) Davis of Claremore, OK; two brothers, Francis (Sandra) Nobriga of Addison, NY, Eugene (Emily) Nobriga of Horseheads, NY; seven grandchildren, Joshua Nobriga of Addison, NY, Danielle Nobriga of Addison, NY, Nichole Church of Elkland, PA, Thomas Church, Jr. of Wolcott, NY, Zachary Church of Gang Mills, NY, Jacob Church of Gang Mills, NY, Tessa Runyan of Elkland, PA; and several special nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 13th, from 5-7 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY, with service following at 7 p.m. with Father Lewis Brown of All Saints Parish officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Elkland, PA, at the convenience of the family.
