Manny is the son of the late Nazar and Sara Momjian Panosian. Manny is also pre-deceased by his brother James Panosian, sister Ruth Panosian, and daughter Sandy White. Mr. Panosian is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lucille T. Arikian Panosian; his children David & Dr. Kim Mitchell Panosian of Elmira, NY, Daniel & Karen Vieselmeyer Panosian of Elmira Heights, NY, Susan & Dean Frisbie of Big Flats, NY, and Ronald & Christine Brimmer Panosian of Elmira, NY.; grandchildren: Jill (Jonathan), Jennifer, Jeffrey, Joseph, Elizabeth (Matthew), Timothy (Janelle), Rachel, Stephen (Rachel), Jessica (Brandon), Brandon (Meghan), Cameron, Eric, Tyler, Connor, Kelley, and Erin; sister-in-law Varsi Panosian of Rochester,NY; brother and sister-in-law Dr. Ed & Betty Panosian of Greenville, SC; brother Stan Panosian of Elmira, NY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John & Judy Arikian of Elmira, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends.

Manny Panosian was a person of faith, family, commerce, and community. He was baptized as a youth in the Chemung River. His commitment continued with fellowship, learning, outreach, and worship activities during a long life as a member and leader of the Southside Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of Southside High School Class of 1940. He served as an officer in the US Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-24 navigator.

During his career he developed multiple retail, real estate, and broadcasting enterprises including Mr. Panosian's Street of Shops, Langdon Plaza, and WIQT/WQIX Radio.

Community service arenas included: Chemung County Chamber of Commerce, Mark Twain Scholars, Salvation Army, Elmira Kiwanis, Twin Tiers Youth For Christ, Southside Merchants Association, Junior Achievement, Elmira Downtown Development, ACTS (Area Christians Together in Service), and several education and college advisory boards. Manny received numerous professional and service awards.

The real joys of his life were his faith in God, Lucille (beloved wife of over 60 years), his family, friends, and several dachshunds.

A book of memories is being compiled for the family. Please e-mail any additions to [email protected].

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the "ACTS (Area Christians Together in Service)" or "Mark Twain Scholars" funds at The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc. (301 South Main Street, Horseheads, NY 14845) or a local charity of your choice.

Friends and family are invited to gather together for a memorial service at 11:00am on Saturday, February 7, 2015. The service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church located at 304 North Main Street across the street from Langdon Plaza in downtown Elmira, NY. The Rev. David Daniels will officiate.
