PRONTI, Mark A.
Age 46, of Elmira, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008, at Robert Packer Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1961 in Elmira, NY to Michael Pronti and the late Jean (Burdick) Pronti. Survivors include his wife, Carla (Mejia) Pronti of Elmira; son, Mark (Jessicah) Pronti Jr. of Elmira; daughters, Melissa Pronti of Elmira and Heather (Nathan) Austin of Elmira; father, Michael Pronti of Horseheads; brothers, Joseph (Patricia) Pronti of Big Flats, James Boice of Ocala, FL, Robert (Denise) Pronti of Big Flats, Edward Pronti of Elmira, Stephen (Karen) Pronti of Elmira, Paul Pronti of Horseheads, John (Jane) Pronti of Horseheads and Brett (Cassandra) Pronti of Utica, NY; sisters, Janice (Donald) Schrom of Elmira, Jean (Vern) Gillette of Wellsburg, Ann Pronti of Elmira and Sandra White of Elmira; grandchildren, Nickolas, Savannah, Jennica, Hannah, Tristan, Sierra, Dominic and Lacy; along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 18th, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow there at 7 p.m. with Father Jeffrey Tunnicliff officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Aunt Carla & Kids, I'm really sorry for your loss... Uncle Mark meant the world to me and I will miss him dearly. I always thought of him as a second father. He was always there to help when you needed it. I shared 24 yrs of wonderful birthdays with him and I will have many more with him in my heart. Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reminds me of him or that tells me he is still with me. I will miss him calling me my "twin" and "billy"...I miss helping him with the stand...We all had a great time with him around no matter what the occasion...Aunt Carla, love like you too had is priceless and 1 in a millon...Just hold on to all the good times you two shared....Uncle Mark is loved and will be greatly missed.

Carla, Mark Jr. and family, I am soooo sorry for your loss. I remember hanging out with Mark jr. when I was younger and helping Sr. with his business. My deepest sympathy and sorrow goes out to you and your family.

Carla, words cannot express the sorrow ,pain and grief you and the kids and the grand kids are going through. If there was a word to describe what true love and happiness from a wife to her husband, it could only be "CARLA" ,if there was a complete description of what true love and happiness was and any possible way to give it to someone you had done that like no other could dream of.I dont know what definition webster uses to define love but I know it should be very simlpy "Carla". I know there were alot of rough times that you two had gone through but the happiness far out weighed the bad.I can tell you that Mark loved you so very much and every thought he had and any hours he worked were for you and the kids and grand kids ,You were the only reason the sun came up in the morning for him.I'm so very thankful he had you by his side to share his life with for you were his life and he was yours. I love my brother with every ounce of me , we were I think (my feelings) bestfriends and brothers aswell.I know there can't possible be any doubt that you and his kids and grand kids were evrything to him. Thank You for being my brothers wife, lover ,bestfriend.I hope and pray you and the kids can find peace and happiness and the sun will rise again and when you feel the warmth on your face , you'll know in your heart it's Mark shinning down through the sky saying its ok I"m here.

I am very sorry for you loss, I did not find about Mark's passing until late Thursday night, because I was out of town. I'm Mark's cousin Kathy Burdick Aldrich and it always said to lose a relative, I am Uncle Jim and Aunt Tess's daughter. Mark is now with Aunt Jean and Tom.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
