Mr Luce was one of the greats in my mind.
I was lucky to have him twice as a teacher at CHS and he always had a way to make everything interesting and made you actually want to learn. I don't remember many of my teachers....but him , I will never forget. I'm saddened that he's no longer with us to smile and laugh. He will be missed.
RIP, Mr Luce

Mr. Luce was such a wonderful teacher- I had him for biology and anatomy and I will always remember him fondly.
He was always smiling and so easy to talk to.
I am now a physician and have taken countless science classes but I often still think back to my first and favorite anatomy class with Mr. Luce.

He was beloved at CHS and he will me missed but not forgotten.

I was so sad to read about Dick's passing. Our classrooms were next to each other for many years and he was always upbeat and thinking about his students. He was a great friend. My prayers and sympathy to his family.

Mr Luce was my science teacher and I belonged to his science club too. I graduated in 1977. He was a wonderful person and a great teacher. He also lead the plant club. He taught me how to love the beauty of the outdoors. I still love to care for my gardens. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr Luce was my biology teacher 25 years ago. I still remember his smile and how much he really cared about us. This was rare for a teacher back then. Such a sweet sweet man. So sorry for your loss. Take comfort in knowing how beloved he was and what a difference he made in so many lives.

Mr. Luce was one of my favorite teachers of all time. Seeing his face here in the photo brings back a flood of memories and all of them are good. He brought boring subjects to life and was exceptional at connecting with his students.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
