Ruby Veitch

Ruby E. Passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 under the care of her loving family and Southern Tier Hospice at the age of 83. Mrs. Veitch is survived by her son-in-law and daughter, Tyler and Sally Veitch Schouten; son, Jamie Veitch; and her grandsons and their families, Stephen and Jennifer Schouten and great grandson Ryan, and Adam and Lynn Schouten and great grandson Tyler. Ruby is predeceased by her close companion and loving husband, of 52 years, Adam, in February of 1998. Ruby was admired for her warm and caring ways but most of all for her dignity throughout her life. At the request of Mrs. Veitch there will be no prior calling hours or funeral service. A private service will take place at the Reading Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Mrs. Veitch may do so through memorials in Ruby's name to the Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 or to the Watkins Glen Fire & Rescue Squad, 207 N. Franklin Street, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Arrangements are entrusted to the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls, New York.
