William Taylor Obituary

William D. Taylor

Wellsboro - William D. Taylor, age 85, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Montour Falls, NY, died on Friday, October 26, 2018. He was born on December 12, 1932 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late G. Lynn and Maude H. (Cook) Taylor and was married for 63 years to Phyllis M. (Youmans) Taylor. Bill served in the US Air Force in the Korean War and attended the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro. He was retired from the NY State Police and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Phyllis Taylor of Wellsboro, PA, three sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Gloria Taylor, Jr. of St. Clairsville, OH, Gary and Jamie Taylor of Elmira Heights, NY, Mark and Debbie Taylor of Wabash, IN, two daughters and son-in-law: Marsha and Paul Adair of Avon, OH, Sherri and Shane Pickle of Trion, GA, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey McCleary officiating. Interment will be in the West Branch Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Goodies for Our Troops, PO Box 383, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
