Dennis Niederer Obituary
Dennis was born April 25, 1944 in Stuttgard, Arkansas, the son of Gordon and Donna Marie Sherd Niederer. He attended schools in Archer, Idaho and is a graduate of Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. He continued his education at Ricks College. In 1963 he began his service in the United States Army, serving 22 years. He then transferred to the Army reserve, retiring in 2002 with a total of 39 years served. He was a member of the American Legion.
On August 21, 1964 he married Linda Lee Graham in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had worked for the following during his lifetime, Golden Valley, Idahoan Foods, Pro Ida, US Steel and Wal Mart. He enjoyed woodworking and Stained Glass Art, making toys, and machine embroidery.
Dennis is survived by his children; Lonna (Michael) Howard of Jacksonville, NC, Paula (Jeffrey) Burke of Senoia, GA, and Michael (Jamie) Niederer of West Jordan, UT. Brother's; Emil (Kathy) Niederer of Sunnydell, ID and Paul (Eva) Niederer of Sunnydell, ID. Grandchildren; Ila Marie Clawson, Dawn McCusker, Kimberly Howard, Jonathan Howard, Brayden Niederer, Alexis Niederer and Caleb Niederer, Jeffrey Burke Jr., and Sara McClendon. Great Grandchildren; Micaela McClendon, Parker McClendon, Piper McClendon, Maddox McClendon and Leia Burke.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lee Niederer. His parents. A son, Kevin Niederer. A sister, Colleen and brother, Phillip.
A graveside service will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:00 am in the Sutton Cemetery (841 Sutton Cemetery, Rexburg, ID 83440). A viewing will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID 83442). Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society or American Legion.
